Getting Sleep on Track
It’s not too late to get on the right track…
When children don’t sleep well, their development and temperament suffer. And the effects can ripple through the whole family. The longer the problem persists, the more collateral damage it causes.
Bedtime battles, tantrums, irritability—all of these can be caused by poor sleep.
Children who sleep well are better able to learn, process information, and pay attention. They are more easy-going, flexible with demands–and they like to go to sleep! Good sleep habits developed in childhood provide the foundation for sleeping well in adulthood. And the benefits last a lifetime.
Sleep Consultations for Parents of Babies, Toddlers, and Preschoolers
Home Visits: Baby sleep consultant Dr. Kennedy provides in-home, individualized interventions for parents of children from birth to age 5 in many neighborhoods in New York City. Dr. Kennedy will come to your home to assess the problem and help you plan and implement strategies to turn your child into a good sleeper. In addition to the home visit, Dr. Kennedy will provide a written plan and will be available for a pre-determined amount of follow-up by phone and email.
Office Visits: When home visits cannot be arranged due to distance or scheduling constraints, Dr. Kennedy meets with parents in her Manhattan office. Parents can opt for the full package of services or a limited package that includes less follow-up contact.
Phone/Video Consultations: Dr. Kennedy can consult with you by phone or virtually provided you are in New York State at the time of the call.
Kids and Adolescents
Dr. Kennedy provides consultations and treatment recommendations on sleep issues for parents of children aged 5-17. When appropriate, Dr. Kennedy will provide a referral for ongoing treatment with a child or adolescent psychologist who specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
